Hyrum Laney is Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of AcornSI. Hyrum works with AcornSI’s leadership team to effectively execute the company’s business strategy by providing technical direction and guidance for company operations.
Prior to founding AcornSI, Hyrum managed SAIC’s Ocean Sciences R&D Division, a business unit with approximately 70 scientists and engineers, and annual revenues of $30M. The Division is composed of five branches focused on Underwater Acoustics, Advanced Signal Processing, Hydrodynamic Modeling, Unexploded Ordinance Classification, and Marine Alternative Energy. Hyrum led the Division to repeatedly pioneer and market transformational solutions to previously unsolved problems.
For over 25 years, Hyrum spent the majority of his career focused on the ocean sciences with technical expertise in underwater acoustic propagation modeling, ASW system performance modeling, in-water nuclear bomb signal characterization, detection, and classification, and maritime ISR systems development and testing. Hyrum also has extensive project management, business development, and proposal development expertise.
